Position Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate survey staff across multiple assignments and priorities.
- Manage projects against established technical requirements, budgets, and schedules.
- Review survey deliverables for accuracy, quality, and alignment with applicable regulations and professional standards.
- Develop project scopes, estimates, schedules, and work plans.
- Direct or manage multiple types of field and office surveying work.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, project teams, and other stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Coordinate closely with engineering, design, construction, and other technical disciplines.
- Coach and provide technical direction to surveying professionals.
- Contribute technical expertise to business development and marketing activities.
- Collaborate with surveying professionals in other locations to share resources and expertise.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Land Surveyor in Colorado, or the ability to obtain Colorado licensure within one year.
- Strong command of surveying mathematics and computations.
- Thorough understanding of professional surveying principles, practices, and QA/QC requirements.
- Experience with current surveying equipment and technology.
- Working knowledge of engineering, design, and construction practices.
- Ability to perform, direct, or manage multiple types of surveying assignments.
- Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
- Sound independent judgment and problem-solving ability.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and coordinate others.
- Strong client communication and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent responsibilities and changing project demands.
Preferred Experience
- Professional survey licensure in states neighboring Colorado.
- AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Preparation of legal descriptions.
- ALTA/NSPS land title surveys.
- Subdivision plats.
- Photogrammetry.
- Evaluation and adoption of new surveying technologies.
