About the Opportunity
A leading national Building Automation Systems integrator is seeking an experienced Tridium Graphics Engineer to support the delivery of high-quality Niagara-based user interfaces for commercial and industrial facilities across the United States.
This position is ideal for a BAS professional who combines technical expertise with creativity and a strong understanding of HVAC operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining intuitive graphical user interfaces within the Niagara N4 platform that enhance operator visibility and system performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop custom graphics within the Niagara N4 platform.
- Create floor plans, equipment graphics, dashboards, navigation pages, and alarm displays for BAS projects.
- Configure dynamic graphics that accurately represent HVAC system operation and status.
- Develop consistent graphical standards across customer sites and projects.
- Integrate real-time BAS data, trends, alarms, and setpoints into graphical interfaces.
- Collaborate with Programmers, Design Engineers, Project Managers, and Field Technicians throughout project execution.
- Review project documentation, sequences of operation, and control drawings to ensure graphics accurately reflect system functionality.
- Optimize graphics for usability, performance, and customer experience.
- Support commissioning activities and resolve graphics-related issues during startup.
- Maintain and update existing Niagara front-end systems as customer requirements evolve.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of BAS, HVAC Controls, or Building Automation experience.
- Current Niagara N4 Certification required.
- Strong hands-on experience building graphics within Tridium Niagara N4.
- Experience working with Distech Controls and Honeywell building automation systems.
- Understanding ofHVAC equipment including:
- Air Handling Units (AHUs)
- VAV Systems
- Chillers
- Boilers
- Cooling Towers
- Heat Pumps
- Central Plants
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Sequences of Operation
- Control Drawings
- Mechanical Plans
- Points Lists
- Network Architecture Diagrams
- Experience creating intuitive and visually appealing operator interfaces.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PX Graphics, HTML5-based Niagara graphics, and modern visualization tools.
- Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, and IP-based BAS networks.
- Experience supporting healthcare, higher education, manufacturing, data center, pharmaceutical, or mission-critical facilities.
- Exposure to energy analytics, fault detection, and enterprise-level integrations.
- Knowledge of UX/UI principles as they relate to operator-facing BAS systems.
