Technical Lead - Canada

Role Overview

To support the strategic growth and successful launch of operations in Canada, we are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Technical Lead to work closely with the Chief Regional Officer (CRO), North America in executing the local strategy.

The ideal candidate will be well-integrated into the local engineering community and demonstrate a strong commitment to values such as passion, flexibility, and dedication. With people at the heart of our success, we're looking for someone with outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills-capable of inspiring and guiding a diverse team across cultural and technical backgrounds.

This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset and a solid understanding of working within a group structure. Technical excellence is essential to meet leadership expectations. Based on performance and demonstrated capabilities, this position offers the potential to evolve into Country Local Representative.


Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

  • Lead the delivery of design and consulting services, including construction design for contractors.
  • Collaborate with the U.S. team and coordinate international support when needed.

Business Development

  • Support the CRO in identifying opportunities, preparing tenders, and driving business development in Canada.
  • Strengthen partnerships with other design firms.
  • Represent the company at industry forums, professional institutions, and government agencies.

Finance

  • Assist in monthly project financial reporting and control.
  • Monitor project cash flow, receivables, and cost control.
  • Ensure project teams are aware of budgets and report progress against targets, recommending corrective actions as needed.

Human Resources

  • Contribute to resource planning and talent acquisition.
  • Identify and attract top local talent.

Quality & Governance

  • Support implementation of quality processes to obtain necessary certifications in Canada.
  • Apply governance standards locally.
  • Assess risks and define mitigation strategies for partnerships and contract commitments.
  • Implement robust project control procedures.

Location

  • Toronto or Montreal

Salary & Benefits

  • Base Salary: CAD 150,000 - 180,000
  • Performance Bonus: CAD 25,000 (based on order intake, gross revenue, EBITDA)
  • Vacation: 5 weeks annually
  • Additional Benefits: Health insurance, pension fund, RRSP retirement savings plan

Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Canada (P.Eng Ontario required; eligibility in Quebec is an asset)
  • BSc or MSc in Civil Engineering, with a focus on Geotechnical or Structural disciplines
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in infrastructure/heavy civil engineering; underground construction preferred
  • Strong understanding of FEM modeling and structural verification (temporary excavation support, reinforced concrete, steelwork)
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with proven leadership experience
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in French is a strong asset
  • Canadian citizenship required
