Job Description:
As an Environmental Services Business Analyst specializing in offshore wind projects in the APAC region, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of environmental strategies and compliance with regulatory requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze environmental data, assess potential risks, and develop actionable insights to support our business objectives. Your responsibilities will include:
Environmental Data Analysis:
- Collect, compile, and analyze environmental data related to offshore wind projects, including biodiversity assessments, marine ecology surveys, and impact studies.
- Utilize statistical techniques and modeling tools to identify trends, patterns, and correlations in environmental data sets.
- Develop reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders, including management, regulatory authorities, and project teams.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay abreast of environmental regulations, guidelines, and best practices applicable to offshore wind projects in the APAC region.
- Assess project plans and activities to ensure compliance with environmental laws and permitting requirements.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies and consultants to obtain necessary permits and approvals for project development and operations.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Conduct risk assessments to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of offshore wind projects, such as habitat disturbance, noise pollution, and marine wildlife interactions.
- Work with technical experts to identify mitigation measures and design environmental management plans to minimize adverse effects.
- Monitor project activities and performance indicators to identify emerging risks and implement corrective actions as needed.
Business Strategy Support:
- Provide environmental insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and business development efforts.
- Contribute to the development of business plans, investment proposals, and feasibility studies for offshore wind projects.
- Collaborate with finance and commercial teams to assess the financial implications of environmental factors and incorporate them into project economics.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, local communities, and industry partners, to address environmental concerns and build positive relationships.
- Participate in public consultations, stakeholder meetings, and industry forums to promote transparency, foster dialogue, and enhance environmental stewardship.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in environmental analysis, preferably in the renewable energy or offshore wind sector.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data management, statistical analysis, and GIS software.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and permitting processes in the APAC region, particularly related to marine and coastal environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to translate environmental insights into actionable business strategies.
- Project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage resources effectively.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages relevant to the APAC region is a plus.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits, meetings, and project assignments.
