Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Asset Management, the Asset Manager supports the Asset Management Team ("AM") in ensuring the assets are performing at optimal levels in order to maximize financial performance by managing risks, and seeking, executing opportunities to improve project cashflow.
Location: Remote (preference for those based on the East Coast)
The responsibilities of the Asset Manager include:
- Support the Director of Asset Management ensuring the departmental goals are met.
- Work with Operations and Maintenance Team (O&M) to understand and resolve operational issues that affect financial performance.
- Support the AM team with internal and external reporting responsibilities including the preparation of PowerPoint or Excel spreadsheets to stakeholders.
- Ensure timely preparation of monthly operating reports with accurate explanations of variances to the model.
- Support the AM Team in maintaining compliance and ensuring payment relating to financing, real estate, property tax, and other regulatory requirements.
- Work with the O&M Team in negotiations with project vendors and service suppliers to reduce OpEx and/or improve services.
- Work with Accounting to ensure billing is accurate and variances to the model are explained and documented.
The Asset Manager should have the following qualifications:
- Four-year degree in a related field.
- Experience in managing a portfolio of solar assets a STRONG plus but will consider other asset management experience.
- Familiarity with monitoring software and performance reporting.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a cross functional team.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze problem scenario's and make quick intelligent decisions
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook are required
