We're currently working with an environmental consulting firm based across NSW and QLD. They specialize in providing a wide range of environmental services, including ecological assessments, surveys and monitoring programs, impact assessments, and management plans. They work closely with clients to provide tailored solutions to their environmental challenges, and they are committed to delivering high-quality services in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting ecological assessments, surveys and monitoring programs to identify flora and fauna species and assess their habitat requirements.
- Preparing reports and impact assessments to identify the potential impact of development on biodiversity and to develop management plans to mitigate these impacts.
- Developing and implementing ecological management plans to mitigate the impacts of development on biodiversity.
- Conducting fieldwork, including flora and fauna surveys, habitat assessments and biodiversity assessments.
- Liaising with clients, stakeholders and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with environmental legislation and guidelines.
Qualifications ideally include:
- A degree in ecology or a related field.
- Accreditation or in the process of being accredited under the Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in ecological consulting.
- Strong knowledge of flora and fauna species in Sydney or NSW.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Experience managing ecological projects and supervising junior staff preferred but not necessary.
