Position Overview: As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of geotechnical projects in the Dallas area and beyond. Leveraging your expertise, you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and clients to deliver geotechnical designs, analysis, and recommendations that ensure the safety, stability, and longevity of various construction and infrastructure projects. Responsibilities:
Conduct Geotechnical Investigations: Plan and execute subsurface investigations, including drilling, sampling, and laboratory testing, to gather crucial data for analyzing soil and rock properties.
Geotechnical Analysis: Utilize geotechnical software and engineering principles to analyze data and develop appropriate design parameters for foundations, slopes, retaining walls, and other geotechnical elements.
Foundation Design: Prepare detailed foundation design recommendations for various structures, considering site-specific conditions, load requirements, and environmental factors.
Slope Stability Analysis: Assess slope stability and design slope reinforcement measures to mitigate risks of landslides and soil erosion.
Retaining Wall Design: Design and analyze retaining walls to provide safe and efficient support for changes in elevation.
Construction Monitoring: Oversee geotechnical aspects during construction, conduct field inspections, and provide expert recommendations to ensure compliance with design specifications.
Geotechnical Reports: Generate comprehensive geotechnical reports, including site characterization, data analysis, design recommendations, and engineering calculations.
Client Interaction: Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to address project requirements, resolve technical issues, and provide expert advice.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all geotechnical engineering activities align with industry standards, local regulations, and company guidelines.
Project Management: Assist in project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited university. Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering is a plus.
Professional Engineer (PE) License: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Texas.
Experience: 5-7 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, including subsurface investigation, analysis, and design.
Geotechnical Software Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in using geotechnical software for analysis and design, such as Plaxis, gINT, GeoStudio, and Slope/W.
Field Experience: Hands-on experience in conducting field investigations, soil sampling, and laboratory testing.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles, soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and slope stability analysis.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to clients and project stakeholders.
