Our client, a leader in civil engineering, is currently seeking a Hydraulic and Drainage Engineer with a minimum 5 years of experience, specializing in hydraulic modelling, drainage design and scour evaluation.
Responsibilities
* Candidate will work out of our Chicagoland office on a hybrid remote agreement.
* Responsible for the development of hydraulic design and reports under the direction of a Senior Hydraulics Engineer.
* Develop hydrology, hydraulic, floodway, and scour reports for bridge and culvert rehabilitation and replacements
* Develop drainage reports and stormwater drainage improvement projects.
* Perform hydraulic engineering calculations from preliminary to final design.
* Develop plans and cost estimates.
* Coordinate with project staff, other disciplines, sub-consultants, clients, and reviewers to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
* Manage and maintain project documentation, including meeting project schedules, budgets, and scope
* Attend on-site and off-site client meetings throughout Chicagoland.
* Assist in proposal, scope of work, and fee schedule preparation.
Qualifications
* Minimum 5 years of hydraulic design experience required.
* BSCE is required. MSCE is a plus but not necessary.
* A Illinois PE is strongly preferred,
* Understanding of FEMA Flood Management Regulations and CLOMR experience.
* Ability to develop design reports that address design criteria and client concerns. Able to prepare or assist in the preparation and maintenance of client reporting such as status reports and other writing or verbal communications to the client. Strong writing and communication skills.
* Ability to develop multiple projects concurrently.
* Proficient in Microstation, PondPack, HEC-HMS, TR-55, StormCAD, HEC-RAS, FHWA Hydraulic Toolbox, HY-8, HydroCAD and OpenRoads SUDA.
* 2D hydraulic modeling experience with SMS or other software is an asset.
* Understanding of permitting and environmental regulations is an asset.
