Job Description: Technology Systems Designer
As a Technology Systems Designer, you'll play a crucial role in the day-to-day design of telecommunications, security, and audio-visual (A/V) construction documents. Working closely with senior staff, your responsibilities will include:
- Technical Design: Collaborate on the design of telecommunications, security, and A/V systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Software Proficiency: Develop expertise in industry-standard design software, including Revit and BIM modeling.
- Site Surveys: Conduct site condition surveys to inform design decisions.
- Contractor Coordination: Review contractor submittals and provide technical guidance.
- Project Support: Assist multiple design teams in delivering high-quality results within deadlines.
- Innovative Approaches: Utilize technology and methodologies to create innovative building design solutions.
Qualifications:
- Education: An associate's degree or equivalent in Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Telecommunications Engineering is required. Alternatively, 5 years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience: You should have at least 1 year of experience in the installation, maintenance, or design and specification of Technology Systems (Telecom, Security, A/V). Ideally, this experience includes projects in government, healthcare, higher education, or science and technology sectors.
- Additional Qualifications:
- Familiarity with inside-plant (ISP) and outside-plant (OSP) telecommunications design.
- Strong attention to detail in design coordination and contract document development.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multi-office technology systems group.
- Minimal travel (anticipated to be less than 5%) for cross-office collaboration and on-site client engagement.
