A national environmental & engineering firm that is fully employee-owned and is widely recognised for its top-tier environmental, geotechnical, and groundwater services across Australia are seeking an Area Manager, Principal Contaminated Land Scientist to join their Melbourne team. This key leadership role will involve managing environmental projects, driving business growth, and mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage environmental projects from inception to completion, ensuring high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction.
- Provide technical expertise in environmental assessments, contaminated land investigations, and remediation projects.
- Actively contribute to business development activities, including client relationship management and proposal preparation.
- Mentor and supervise junior staff, fostering a culture of learning and development within the team.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders to achieve project goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental consulting, with a focus on contaminated land assessments and remediation.
- Proven track record in project management and business development within the consulting industry.
- Strong understanding of relevant environmental regulations and guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Leadership experience, including mentoring and supervising junior staff.
