Position Overview: They are seeking a skilled and experienced PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) Manager to join our team in Melbourne. The PPA Manager will primarily be responsible for negotiating and managing PPA contracts with buyers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions that align with our business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead PPA negotiations with potential buyers, ensuring contracts are structured to optimize revenue and minimize risk.
- Collaborate closely with legal, finance, and project development teams to develop contract terms that meet regulatory, financial, and operational requirements.
- Manage the end-to-end PPA process from initial contact through to contract execution and beyond.
- Conduct market analysis and stay informed about industry trends to inform negotiation strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including utilities, corporate buyers, government agencies, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide guidance and support on PPA-related matters to internal teams and senior management.
- Monitor existing PPAs and assess opportunities for renegotiation or expansion.
- Stay updated on regulatory developments and policy changes that may impact PPA agreements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Proven experience 5 years in negotiating and managing PPAs in the renewable energy industry, preferably in Australia.
- Strong understanding of energy markets, renewable energy technologies, and PPA structures.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience in project development or other transactions processes in the renewables sector is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with PPA modeling tools.
