A leading environmental consulting firm specializing in providing sustainable solutions for a wide range of industries is searching for a Principal Environmental Engineer to join their team based in Houston. As a Principal Environmental Engineer, you will play a key role in leading and managing complex environmental projects and providing technical expertise to their clients.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a variety of environmental projects, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and providing technical guidance and support to clients and project teams. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop innovative solutions to environmental challenges and contribute to the growth and success of our company.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage environmental projects remotely from initiation to completion, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, permits, and guidelines.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to clients and project teams on environmental engineering matters, including environmental impact assessments, remediation plans, and sustainability initiatives.
- Conduct remote site assessments and investigations to identify potential environmental risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams remotely to develop and implement innovative solutions for environmental challenges.
- Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and permit applications, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Stay up to date of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to environmental engineering, and incorporate them into project planning and execution.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders remotely to foster collaboration and ensure project success.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technical staff remotely, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Participate in business development activities, including client presentations, proposal writing, and networking events, to expand the company's client base and contribute to revenue growth.
- Uphold the company's commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices in all remote project activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in environmental engineering, with a focus on project management and regulatory compliance.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permitting processes.
- Demonstrated expertise in conducting environmental impact assessments, site investigations, and remediation projects.
- Proficiency in environmental modeling software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor team members remotely.
