Job Description
They are seeking an accomplished and seasoned Principal Geologist to lead and direct complex geological projects, provide strategic guidance, and contribute to the advancement of mining exploration and resource management. As a key member of their geology team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping project outcomes and influencing the global mining landscape.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage diverse geological projects spanning exploration, resource estimation, due diligence, and mine development, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Offer expert geological advice to clients, stakeholders, and internal teams, utilizing your in-depth knowledge of mining geology principles and practices.
- Conduct thorough geological assessments, data analysis, and interpretation to inform project strategies and decision-making.
- Develop and oversee geological models, designs, and methodologies to optimize mineral resource estimation and mine planning.
- Collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, presentations, and documentation that effectively communicate geological findings and recommendations.
- Engage in business development initiatives, including proposal preparation, client engagement, and building strong industry relationships.
- Stay abreast of emerging geological technologies, trends, and industry developments, integrating them into project approaches.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field. Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in geological consulting, mining exploration, or related fields within the mining industry.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing geological projects in a mining consultancy or relevant industry.
- Extensive technical expertise in geological modeling, data analysis, and resource estimation using industry-standard software.
- Comprehensive knowledge of mining geology principles, mineralogy, and mineral resource evaluation.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex geological concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration within multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff.
- Membership in relevant professional bodies or associations is desirable.
