The client is seeking a skilled and experienced Project Controls Manager/Engineer to join their exciting team in the Data Center industry in Singapore. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of the data center projects by overseeing and implementing project controls strategies, managing budgets, schedules, and risk, and providing valuable insights to support informed decision-making. The ideal candidate has a strong background in project management, excellent analytical skills, and a deep understanding of the data center construction and operations landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Controls Strategy:
- Develop and implement project controls strategies, policies, and procedures for data center projects, aligning with industry best practices and project requirements.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure project progress, cost performance, and schedule adherence.
Budget Management:
- Collaborate with project teams to establish and manage project budgets, forecasting costs, and tracking expenditures.
- Monitor financial performance, identify variances, and provide recommendations to ensure budget compliance.
Schedule Oversight:
- Develop comprehensive project schedules in collaboration with project managers and stakeholders, ensuring realistic timelines and milestones.
- Monitor project progress against schedules, identifying delays and potential roadblocks, and proposing mitigation strategies.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Conduct thorough risk assessments for each project, identifying potential risks and opportunities that could impact project outcomes.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation plans, continuously monitoring and updating them as the project evolves.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Gather, analyze, and interpret project data to generate meaningful reports and dashboards for stakeholders and leadership.
- Provide regular updates on project performance, highlighting areas of concern and recommending corrective actions.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Facilitate effective communication among project teams, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Present project status, key performance metrics, and potential challenges during regular meetings and reporting sessions.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify process inefficiencies and areas for improvement within project controls processes and contribute to their enhancement.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to optimize project controls strategies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in project controls management or related roles within the data center, construction, or infrastructure industry.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and techniques.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with local regulations and codes related to construction and data center operations in Singapore.
