About the Client:
We are currently seeking a Senior Environmental Planner for a leading firm in New South Wales. Their service offering includes environmentla planning, impact assessments, GIS mapping, sustainability, circular economy, and resource recovery.
The position can be based in Sydney, Newcastle, or the Central Coast, in New South Wales. As long as the candidate has experience locally within NSW and is familiy with the legislation, then you would be suitable. The role is 100% remote.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the environmental approvals process for a range of development projects
- Develop and implement environmental impact assessment and management strategies
- Provide advice to clients on environmental planning and approvals
- Prepare and review environmental impact assessment reports
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies
- Mentor and manage junior staff
Skills:
- Strong understanding of the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Act 1999
- Experience in environmental impact assessments and approvals
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, or a related field
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in environmental planning and approvals
- experience in a consulting environment is preferred
