One of the leading Engineering Consultancies Globally is looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join their Decarbonization team within the Energy Global practice! This position will ideally be based out of their World HQ in Kansas City. As a Senior Process Engineer, you will collaborate with project teams on conceptual design, FEED studies, and detailed design / EPC projects centered around decarbonization technologies such as hydrogen production and utilization (green, blue, pink, etc.), carbon capture, direct air capture (DAC), long-duration energy storage processes, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and more.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project teams throughout the design and construction phases, adjusting process plans based on budget constraints, design considerations, or client requirements.
- Lead process design efforts from conceptualization to completion, including modification and review of production drawings for various projects like hydrogen production facilities, DAC facilities, power plants, LNG facilities, and other industrial facilities.
- Design process components tailored to project needs and specifications provided by project managers.
- Utilize expertise in process engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the process engineering services industry.
- Conduct research and gather project-related data as requested by project managers.
- Verify corrections in drawings using multiple CAD-related software under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Develop familiarity with technologies and OEMs in the decarbonization market.
- Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration related to the design of decarbonization facilities.
- Conduct field inspections, measurements, or calculations for both public and private clients.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited program, plus 7 years of chemical engineering experience; EPC project experience preferred.
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program, successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and 7 years of chemical engineering experience; EPC project experience preferred.
- OR Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering plus 6 years of chemical engineering experience; EPC project experience preferred.
- Experience in at least one of the following industries preferred: liquefied natural gas (LNG), hydrogen production, carbon capture, power generation, water & wastewater treatment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and process simulation software (e.g., AFT Fathom, Hysys, Aspen, HTRI) preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience leading discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and ability to resolve issues in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.
- Willingness to travel.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
