We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sr. Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of contract documents for various structural engineering projects. This position requires expertise in creating plans, technical specifications, reports, structural cost estimates, and other relevant documentation for new structures.
Responsibilities:
Project Development: Lead the development of structural engineering projects from inception to completion.
Scheduling: Effectively manage project time-lines and milestones, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
Proposal Creation: Prepare comprehensive project proposals, outlining scope, deliverables, and budget requirements.
Budgeting: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial goals are met.
Document Review and Approval: Review and approve construction documents, including shop drawings, Requests for Information (RFIs), Change Orders, and Equivalent Substitutions.
Plan Reviews: Conduct thorough plan reviews in accordance with the Michigan Building Code, ensuring compliance and adherence to standards.
Sealing and Signing: Take responsibility for sealing and signing project documents, ensuring legal and regulatory requirements are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Michigan.
- Proven experience in designing and developing contract documents for structural engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of Michigan Building Code and relevant industry standards.
- Proficient in project management, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
