Day-to-day:
An industry leader in clean energy is looking for a Automation Engineer to join their Tools, Standards, and Technology Team. As a member of this team, you will actively partake in developing innovative tools and apps for continuous process improvement. Your responsibilities as an automation engineer will be capturing technical requirements and process improvements to support value engineering. You will also work closely with the modeling and project design teams to develop cloud-based tools. This company aims to be net-zero by 2040 and primarily focuses on utility-scale wind, solar, and storage. This is a great opportunity for an Automation Engineer to join a growing, international clean energy company.
Essential Functions - Automation Engineer:
- Develop, evaluate, and enhance existing Python tools developed in-house
- Process owner for capturing technical application requirements and support value engineering through automation
- Automate solar engineering processes
- Work closely with North American solar engineering and finance teams
- Meet regularly with European engineering and finance teams
- Passion for the renewable energy industry
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience providing quantitative analysis, software development, and automation preferably within solar/storage industry or relevant industry
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering at the minimum
- Knowledge of solar energy assessment and operations performance analytics
- Strong understanding of PV modeling concepts
Pluses:
- Experience working with PVCase, PVsyst
- Azure
- Knowledge of time series databases
Tools/Technologies:
- Plant Predict/Terabase
- PVLib
- Python libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Plotly, Requests)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms
