Job Title: Solar EPC Director
Location: Taipei, Taiwan
Job Summary: As the Solar EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of solar projects from inception to completion. Based in Taipei, Taiwan, you will lead a team of professionals to ensure the successful execution of solar energy projects, adhering to high-quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints. This role requires a deep understanding of solar technology, project management expertise, and the ability to navigate regulatory frameworks specific to the Taiwanese market.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management: Manage all phases of solar projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover. Develop project schedules, allocate resources effectively, and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.
Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team of engineers, project managers, procurement specialists, and construction professionals. Foster a collaborative work environment and provide guidance to ensure project objectives are met.
Technical Expertise: Apply a comprehensive understanding of solar energy systems, including photovoltaic (PV) panels, inverters, mounting structures, and balance of system components. Ensure engineering designs meet performance requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Stakeholder Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to address project challenges, resolve conflicts, and facilitate smooth project execution.
Quality Assurance and Safety: Implement quality assurance processes to uphold the highest standards of workmanship and system reliability. Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
Budget and Cost Control: Develop project budgets and forecasts in collaboration with the finance department. Monitor project expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement effective cost control measures to optimize project profitability.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with project execution and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact. Proactively address issues as they arise and make data-driven decisions to keep projects on track.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of local regulations, permitting requirements, and incentive programs related to solar energy projects in Taiwan. Ensure projects comply with all applicable laws, codes, and standards to mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, renewable energy, or related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 7-10 years) in solar project management, with a track record of successfully delivering utility-scale solar projects.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve project goals.
- In-depth knowledge of solar PV technology, design principles, and installation best practices.
- Familiarity with local market conditions, regulations, and permitting processes in Taiwan.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools for scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.
- Certification in project management (PMP) or renewable energy (e.g., NABCEP) is desirable.
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English is preferred.
