Title: Substation Engineering Manager
Salary: $150,000 - $170,000

A dynamic and innovative smaller scale EPC firm based in Salt Lake City, Utah is seeking a Substation Engineering Manager to join their team, in office or remotely. Their a family-run firm with a large number of industrial, renewable, gas, and electric projects. They have an impressive portfolio spanning Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, and Texas, at the forefront of pioneering energy solutions across the United States. The company is in search of a highly experienced and motivated Engineering Manager to lead its substation projects team. The successful candidate will offer strategic guidance, technical prowess, and hands-on leadership to a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and drafters in the planning, design, and construction of high-voltage substations.
- Provide technical guidance and expertise to resolve complex engineering challenges during design and construction phases.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with established clients and stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and quality standards to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- PE license preferred but not required
- 10+ years of substation engineering/design experience.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of leading and managing engineering teams.
- Proficiency in substation design software and relevant industry standards.
- Adept at problem-solving and decision-making, particularly in high-pressure situations.
- Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working with high-voltage systems
- Comfortable with occasional travel to job sites for hands-on coordination and construction oversight
