An emerging civil engineering firm in Utah is looking to add a Traffic Design Engineer to their Salt Lake City presence. As a Traffic Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in conceiving, planning, and executing traffic engineering and design projects. Working closely with cross-discipline teams in the Southwest, you will contribute to the development of innovative traffic solutions, ensuring safety, efficiency, and sustainability. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement innovative traffic design solutions.
- Conduct traffic analyses, including capacity analysis, signal timing, and intersection design.
- Prepare and review traffic impact studies, safety analyses, and related reports.
- Design traffic control plans for construction projects, ensuring efficient traffic flow and safety.
- Utilize traffic engineering software and tools for design and analysis.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and participate in project meetings.
- Provide support in preparing project specifications and cost estimates.
- Stay informed about industry trends, standards, and best practices in traffic engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in traffic design engineering.
- Utah Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Proficiency in traffic engineering software (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM).
- Knowledge of traffic control devices, MUTCD, and local standards.
