A multi-disciplinary engineering firm with a presence across the western half of the United States is expanding its Transportation group in Tacoma, WA. They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Engineer to contribute to the successful planning and design of multiple projects for both public agencies and private clients. As a key member of our team, you will work in a collaborative environment, interact with clients, and play a vital role in transforming transportation and public works infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research and due diligence for various projects, analyzing critical aspects to develop innovative and conceptual engineering solutions.
- Coordinate and liaise with sub-consultants, managing internal engineering, survey, and environmental staff to ensure adherence to project requirements, schedule, and budget.
- Translate conceptual designs into detailed construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Utilize various software and programs in the design process, ensuring efficient and accurate project development.
- Independently perform engineering calculations to support project design and development.
- Collaborate with various agencies for planning and design approvals on both private and public projects.
- Provide supervision, coaching, and mentorship to staff, coordinating design efforts for optimal project outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Washington.
- 5+ years of experience in managing multi-disciplined engineering projects.
- Proficiency in roadway design software, particularly AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong technical expertise with a proven track record in preparing technical reports, designs, specifications, and computations.
- Current knowledge of local public agency codes, design standards, and procedures.
