Environmental Engineer
An established environmental consulting firm is seeking an Environmental Engineer to support landfill, site development, and environmental projects. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong design capabilities who enjoys balancing technical work, project execution, and field-based environmental projects. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of engineering, permitting, and site development experience, along with advanced AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop engineering designs and plans for landfill, site development, and environmental projects.
- Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D to prepare grading plans, topographic evaluations, and cut/fill analyses.
- Support permitting, design, and construction-phase activities for environmental and land development projects.
- Perform engineering calculations and assist with site layout, stormwater, and infrastructure planning.
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Prepare technical reports, design documents, and project deliverables.
- Support field investigations, site inspections, and construction oversight as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of engineering experience within environmental consulting, landfill engineering, or site development.
- PE license preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Experience developing grading plans, working with topographic surfaces, and performing cut/fill volume calculations.
- Landfill experience preferred; site development experience is also highly relevant.
- Strong understanding of engineering design principles and construction documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a consulting environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to perform occasional field work.
