Senior Environmental Engineer
An established environmental consulting firm is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to support remediation and environmental compliance projects throughout the Charlotte area. This role combines technical leadership, project management, client engagement, and mentorship of junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Lead site investigations and evaluate soil, groundwater, and vapor contamination.
- Develop remediation strategies, feasibility studies, and remedial designs.
- Oversee remediation system implementation, optimization, and performance monitoring.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and subcontractors.
- Prepare technical reports, regulatory submittals, and client presentations.
- Review and certify SPCC Plans.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- PE license in North Carolina required.
- 10+ years of environmental consulting experience with a focus on remediation.
- Experience with site investigations, remedial design, and implementation of remediation technologies.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations.
- Experience preparing and reviewing SPCC Plans.
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification required (or ability to obtain).
- Excellent project management, technical writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead projects independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet applicable client, safety, and background screening requirements.
