About the Company
A well-established Portland metro civil engineering and community planning firm with a growing Water Resources practice is looking to add a senior leader to its team. The firm works across public and private sectors on a diverse portfolio of stormwater, floodplain, LID, and drainage projects throughout the Pacific Northwest with a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team culture and a genuine commitment to people development and professional growth.
The Role
A project management and practice leadership position for an experienced water resources engineer ready to drive business development, manage a team, and own client relationships at a senior level. You'll have direct influence over the growth and direction of an established water resources department while staying technically engaged across a varied and interesting project portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the Water Resources department through strategic business development and networking
- Identify and pursue new project and client opportunities across the Portland metro and broader Oregon market
- Manage client relationships, contracts, budgets, and billings across multiple concurrent projects
- Conduct QA/QC reviews on reports, calculations, and engineering plans
- Oversee and mentor water resources staff
- Support permitting efforts and ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget
- Collaborate closely with civil engineering design teams across projects
Project Types
- Low impact development, stormwater treatment and retrofits, residential and commercial drainage
- Roadway drainage, master planning, hydraulic analysis, and flood hazard mitigation
Required Qualifications
- Oregon PE license
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Water Resources, or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent)
- 10+ years of experience in stormwater management, project management, client management, and contracts
- Proficiency in XPSWMM/XPSTORM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and HEC-1
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project
- Familiarity with design standards for Portland metro jurisdictions including Washington County, Clackamas County, PBOT, and ODOT
- Proven ability to identify and pursue business development opportunities
- Strong technical writing and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM)
- 2D hydraulic modeling experience
- Washington State PE license
Compensation
- $115,000 to $175,000+ depending on experience
- Full benefits package
