One of my clients are searching for an Assistant Project Manager. This is a unique position where the successful candidate will be an integral part of the Project Management team working on various construction projects while becoming the Presidents Protege by being mentored directly by them. The successful candidate should expect to progress through the ranks to become the Geotechnical department leader and beyond.
Essential Duties
- Assist the President on big projects by managing technical and contractual issues.
- Assist with oversight of all field personnel, subcontractors and vendors.
- Receive, review, and analyse bid documents (e.g., specifications, scope, contract terms & conditions).
- Assist with preparation of proposal documents.
- Administer change orders and back charges.
- Coordinate project updates.
- Maintain working documents files for project estimate back up.
- Assist with preparation of cost analysis reports for record keeping and presentation to management as needed.
- Prepare progress request (invoices) for submittal to customers.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Ability to solve technical problems.
- Strong fundamental knowledge of engineering and management principles and knowledge of business procedures.
- Willingness to be a hands on manager who may visit site more often to ensure the smooth running of operations.
- Ability to interact with various trades, managers and peers in a professional manner.
Education/Experience
- Civil Engineering Degree or similar.
- P.E or an experienced E.I.T
- A minimum of 3 year's experience as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer in the Geotechnical Contracting Industry.
