LVI Associates is currently seeking an Associate or Principal Level Data Scientist (Geospatial) in Melbourne to join a global multidisciplinary engineering and construction firm.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of data analytics strategies to support environmental projects
- Conduct advanced data analysis and modeling using statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms
- Work closely with project teams to identify data requirements and develop data-driven solutions
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists and analysts
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to communicate complex data concepts and findings
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in data science, ideally within the context of environmental consulting, contaminated land, environmental approvals, ecology, water resources, and/or environmental geology.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages, such as Python, R, SQL, etc.
- Experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, and data visualization techniques
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts into clear and actionable insights
