Position Overview: They are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Bridge Inspector to play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and functionality of various bridges in New York. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with a focus on bridge inspection and evaluation. The candidate should possess excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of bridges and related structures to assess their condition and compliance with safety standards.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports outlining findings, recommendations, and necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and implement effective solutions based on inspection results.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection data, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical expertise and support for the design and construction of bridge projects.
- Stay abreast of industry developments, standards, and best practices to enhance inspection methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Must have a Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Proven experience in bridge inspection and evaluation.
- Strong understanding of relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
