General Description / Mission:
- Enhance technical communication and coordination between HQ Engineering and Chinese suppliers/partners to minimize information gaps and mitigate risks related to technology and quality.
- Establish a proficient technical team capable of providing comprehensive support for the Homologation process, leveraging local supplier's successful experiences for optimization and enhancement.
- Continuously enhance the quality and capabilities of the technical team to align with the Group's global cost reduction strategy and sustainable development goals.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for general mechanical components and drive train systems, including gearboxes, oil analysis, bearings, mechanical endoscopes, and condition monitoring.
- Ensure technical expertise within the group on hydraulic units, oil analysis, main shaft arrangement, blade bearings, torque arms, transmission systems, rotating units, yaw gears, yaw bearings, bolts, and torques.
- Translate technical issues into business cases to support Sourcing in continuous improvements.
- Serve as a unified voice within the global organization on technical matters and act as a contact interface for mechanical engineering and CPS (Customer Project Support).
- Generate high-level technical reports such as root cause analyses, inspection reports, and serious incident reports when necessary.
- Collaborate with the technology team to approve cost-saving ideas for implementation.
- Participate in forums, drive various cost-saving initiatives, and contribute to turbine availability improvements.
- Collect and analyze data to identify projects aimed at reducing costs and increasing availability.
- Manage technical projects and support vendor qualification/evaluation processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's / Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10-15 years of technical experience.
- Preferably, experience in wind turbine engineering.
- Prior experience in project management or leading technical teams is advantageous.
- Demonstrated expertise in hydraulic systems, gearboxes, and bearings engineering.
- Candidates with a mechanical background specialized in gearboxes, coupled with industrial maintenance and R&D experience, are preferred.
- Mechanical engineers focusing on drive-train and hydraulics, with relevant experience in industrial maintenance and R&D, are highly favored.
- Proficiency in gears, bearings, mechanical condition monitoring, endoscopy, and oil analysis is advantageous.
- Ability to thrive in a multicultural and multinational team environment.
- Strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and fluency in English are essential.
