Construction Manager - Solar or Wind

I am currently working with a leading company in the market who develops, builds, owns and operates utility-scale photovoltaic power plants worldwide. Total EPC experience of the team comprises more than 800 MW of projects. The company has 200 MW PV assets under operation and they are currently active in Japan and 100 MW to be built in 2019 / 2020.
Their worldwide team of about 50 colleagues prefers to work as non-bureaucratic as possible with clear focus on end-products and getting jobs done. They have short and direct ways of communication. Every one enjoys a lot of freedom in structuring and organizing his or her own work.
Regional offices in Germany, Singapore, Japan and Santiago/Chile. For the support of our Singapore team, which takes care of international EPC services and project management, in particular for Japan.
Key responsibilities of the Construction Manager include:
- Construction site management of PV power plants in Japan (large scale plants >10Mwp)
- Management and supervision of subcontractors on site over a range of disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical)
- Progress tracking against construction schedule and regular updates to the project team
- Establishment and enforcement of performance metrics with subcontractors
- Management of incoming goods, distribution of goods and stock of goods on site
- Reports to project management
- Ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Key requirements of the Construction Manager include:
- Required construction management experience on PV construction sites
- Be able to read, write and communicate in English language.
- Understanding of Japanese Language is a plus but not necessary
- Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Strong in analytical and structural thinking
- Good interpersonal and team skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.
- Cultural sensitivity necessary and able to adapt to Japan culture.
- Position to be stationed in Japan.
