The Role:
We are looking for an experienced professional who will lead the development and growth of a water/wastewater team. The candidate will perform a wide range of administrative and managerial tasks. The candidate will be the engineer-in-charge and have experience with projects specific to water/wastewater planning and design, water quantity and quality, wastewater master planning, sewer system design, stormwater management, floodplain management, dam safety planning and design, green infrastructure planning and design, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling for open waterways and closed storm and sanitary sewers, regulatory compliance, water and wastewater system studies/reports and associated design of improvements. You should be excited to build a team consistent with company values and culture. The successful candidate will be committed to the expansion and success of water/wastewater services.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Network to improve the presence and reputation of the company in relation to water/wastewater services
* Market services to clients
* Proposal/technical writing
* Serve as the point person for hiring, training, developing, and maintaining water/wastewater staff
* Partner with human resources and finance to maintain office policies and budgets
* Work closely with senior level management to assist with development of water/wastewater services
* Oversee the progress of the water/wastewater team
* Self-motivated, action-minded, confident, and goal-oriented
* Ability to comfortably jump between concurrent projects and tasks within specified timelines
* Thrive in a team environment
* Desire to learn, attend trainings, and keep informed on design criteria and policies
* Good mentoring/teaching abilities and leadership/managerial skills
* Strong administration, organizational, and communication skills
* Ability to assess the water/wastewater market and identify current and prospective opportunities
Key Skills, Competencies, Experience, & Certifications required:
* ABET-accredited degree in Civil Engineering
* Minimum of 15 years technical experience
* Ohio Professional Engineering license
* Positive reputation within the local infrastructure design community (e.g., municipalities, counties, townships)
* Proven networking skills
* A record of successful proposal writing, including technical approach preparation
* Experience hiring, leading, and managing staff
