Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Geotechnical Project Manager to join the team in Orlando, FL. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage geotechnical projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to project scope, budget, and schedule constraints while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, establishing and maintaining strong relationships to understand their needs, address concerns, and provide proactive communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, scientists, and technicians, to develop comprehensive geotechnical solutions that meet project objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct site investigations, geotechnical explorations, and subsurface analyses to evaluate soil and rock properties, assess geologic hazards, and inform design recommendations.
- Utilize advanced geotechnical software and analytical tools to perform slope stability analyses, foundation design, earth retention systems, and ground improvement techniques.
- Prepare clear and concise technical reports, proposals, and presentations that communicate project findings, recommendations, and conclusions to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively, tracking progress, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff members, fostering their professional development and promoting a culture of continuous learning and growth within the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the state of Florida, or the ability to obtain licensure within six months of employment.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, including at least 1 year in a project management role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing geotechnical projects of varying size and complexity, with demonstrated expertise in project planning, execution, and delivery.
- Strong technical proficiency in geotechnical analysis and design, including slope stability, foundation engineering, earth retention systems, and ground improvement techniques.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software such as gINT, PLAXIS, GeoStudio, and FLAC.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong leadership abilities, with a collaborative and inclusive approach to project management and team development.
- Knowledge of local regulatory requirements, permitting processes, and industry standards in Florida.
