Job Description:
As a K-12 Superintendent, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the successful construction of K-12 school facilities in the Dallas area. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Manage all aspects of on-site construction activities for school projects, including scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and safety compliance.
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to on-site construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring efficient and effective project execution.
- Schedule Management: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely completion of project milestones and deadlines.
- Budget Oversight: Monitor project costs and expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost savings while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that workmanship and materials meet or exceed project specifications and industry standards.
- Safety Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of safety on the job site, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company safety policies and procedures.
- Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders, providing updates on project progress, addressing concerns, and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the construction process, implementing effective solutions to keep the project on track and within budget.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all on-site activities, including daily reports, progress photos, change orders, and as-built drawings.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction, with a focus on school construction projects.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects from start to finish, preferably in the education sector.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate on-site teams.
- Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes relevant to school construction.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Procore or Primavera P6.
- OSHA 30-Hour certification or equivalent required.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
