Job Title: K-12 Superintendent
Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced K-12 Superintendent to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of K-12 residential construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of successfully managing K-12 projects from conception to completion. This role requires a keen attention to detail, effective problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation, in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Team Management: Lead and motivate a team of construction professionals, including project engineers, superintendents, and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Budget and Cost Control: Monitor project budgets, expenses, and cash flow, identifying cost-saving opportunities and minimizing project overruns.
- Schedule Management: Develop and maintain project schedules, tracking progress and milestones, and making adjustments as necessary to ensure timely project completion.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that all work meets industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges throughout the project lifecycle, developing strategies to mitigate risks and minimize disruptions.
- Contract Administration: Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with project specifications and legal requirements.
- Change Management: Evaluate and address changes to project scope, schedule, and budget, coordinating with stakeholders to minimize impacts and maximize project success.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and thorough project documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, change orders, and RFIs, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on K-12 residential construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and regulations.
- Proficiency in project management software, such as Procore, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- PMP or CAPM certification (preferred).
- Understanding of sustainable building practices and LEED certification (a plus).
