Position Overview: As a Live Event Video Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality video content for live events. Responsibilities:
Pre-Event Planning: Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand event objectives, technical requirements, and creative vision. Participate in pre-production meetings to plan camera placement, video routing, and equipment setup.
Technical Setup: Configure and set up video equipment, including cameras, switchers, monitors, and streaming devices, ensuring seamless integration and functionality. Conduct thorough testing to guarantee optimal performance during live events.
Live Event Support: Provide on-site support or remote assistance during live events, troubleshooting technical issues, adjusting camera angles, and ensuring smooth transitions between video sources. Monitor video quality and make real-time adjustments as necessary to maintain a high standard of production.
Post-Event Analysis: Evaluate the success of video production elements post-event, gathering feedback from stakeholders and identifying areas for improvement. Collaborate with the team to implement enhancements and optimize workflows for future events.
Technical Expertise: Stay updated on emerging video technologies, industry trends, and best practices in live event production. Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues, contributing to the continuous improvement of our video production capabilities.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Video Engineer or similar role in live event production.
- Proficiency with video equipment, including cameras, switchers, audio mixers, and video streaming platforms.
- Strong technical skills in video signal routing, video compression, and video playback systems.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to thrive in high-pressure live event environments.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams remotely.
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours and travel occasionally for on-site event support.
- Familiarity with virtual event platforms and remote production workflows is a plus.
