Role Overview:
- Perform forensic field investigations to determine the origin and cause of incidents connected to claims for building or design defects, as well as claims for damage to residential and commercial property.
- Investigate shortcomings in the building's construction or design that may have contributed to the incident's cause and beginning.
- Create a comprehensive remediation strategy that includes a budget, timetable, and scope.
Provide professional investigative reports for senior management review and client presentation that include thorough findings and corrective action plans. - Engage in business development events and presentations, keeping in touch with current and potential clients in the area. Make sure that clients are satisfied by completing projects on schedule and within budget.
- Make sure every assignment is completed with professionalism, correctness, and technical skill.
Qualifications:
- Civil engineering bachelor's degree with a focus on structures
- A PE license in Ohio or a nearby state is necessary; a SE license is desirable.
- 16 years minimum of experience in residential and commercial building design and construction-related activities, or in residential and commercial building design and inspection. Although not necessary, prior forensic investigation expertise is encouraged.
- Strong familiarity with the I-codes for residential (IRC), commercial (IBC), and existing (IEBC)
- Proficiency in wood framing and foundation elements
- It is preferable to comprehend building envelope criteria.
- It is necessary to have familiarity with standard software programs (MS Office) and computer operations. Preference for proficiency with MathCAD
- Capacity to manage several deadlines and priorities while completing complicated tasks
- Excellent written and vocal English communication abilities
