We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Environmental Compliance Specialist to join the team in Seattle, WA of a West Coast based employee-owned environmental consulting firm. The ideal candidate will lead our environmental compliance efforts, ensuring that our clients meet regulatory requirements and uphold environmental standards. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by guiding clients towards sustainable practices and mitigating environmental risks.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage environmental compliance projects from initiation to completion, including permitting, regulatory analysis, and reporting.
- Conduct thorough assessments of client facilities to identify environmental compliance issues and develop effective strategies for resolution.
- Interpret and apply federal, state, and local environmental regulations to ensure client compliance.
- Provide expert guidance to clients on environmental best practices, pollution prevention, and sustainability initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop innovative solutions to complex environmental challenges.
- Stay current on emerging environmental regulations and industry trends to inform decision-making and provide strategic recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in environmental compliance consulting or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including but not limited to, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, and CERCLA.
- Proven track record of successfully managing environmental compliance projects and delivering high-quality results.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify compliance issues and develop practical solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, regulators, and team members.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CHMM, REM, PE) are a plus.
