The client is seeking an experienced and innovative Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their dynamic team in the Data Center industry located in Indonesia. As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of advanced mechanical systems within the state-of-the-art data centers. Your expertise will contribute to the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of our facilities, ensuring optimal performance in a mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership: Provide expert-level guidance and leadership in the design, analysis, and optimization of mechanical systems, including HVAC, cooling, airflow management, and plumbing, to support the operational needs of data center facilities.
Design and Engineering: Lead the conceptualization, development, and implementation of innovative mechanical designs that align with industry best practices and company standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems with electrical and architectural components.
Project Management: Manage the entire project lifecycle, from conceptual design to construction and commissioning, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with local regulations and international standards.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges related to mechanical systems, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the highest levels of reliability and resilience in the data center's operation.
Performance Optimization: Continuously analyze and optimize mechanical systems to enhance energy efficiency, sustainability, and operational performance. Leverage data-driven insights to make informed decisions.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful procurement, installation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems.
Team Development: Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and professional growth within the team.
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed engineering documentation, reports, and presentations to communicate technical concepts, design rationale, and project progress to various audiences, including management and clients.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, with a significant portion of that experience in the design and implementation of mechanical systems within data center or mission-critical environments.
- Strong expertise in HVAC design, cooling technologies, airflow management, and plumbing systems specific to data centers.
- Proficiency in relevant design and simulation software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CFD analysis tools).
- In-depth knowledge of local building codes, industry standards, and regulations related to mechanical systems in Indonesia.
- Proven track record of leading and managing complex engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and address potential technical challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Professional certifications (e.g., P.E., LEED) are a plus.
- Fluent proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
