Position Overview:
They are seeking an exceptional and dynamic MEP Engineering Principal/Office Lead to join and spearhead the MEP division. As the Principal/Office Lead, you will play a key role in driving business growth, providing technical leadership, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work culture within the office. Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the MEP engineering team, ensuring high-quality designs, adherence to industry standards, and innovative solutions.
- Lead the development of complex electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems for various projects, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices.
- Review and approve design documentation, calculations, and drawings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and project specifications.
Business Development:
- Take the lead in identifying business opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and expanding our client base within the region.
- Collaborate with the business development team to prepare winning proposals, feasibility studies, and competitive bids for potential projects.
- Actively participate in industry events, conferences, and networking activities to raise the profile of the company and promote our expertise.
Project Management:
- Oversee the execution of MEP projects, from initial concept through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction.
- Conduct regular project reviews and performance evaluations to identify areas of improvement and implement effective strategies to optimize project outcomes.
Team Development and Management:
- Mentor and inspire the MEP engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Conduct regular performance assessments, set development goals, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Identify skill gaps and organize training programs to enhance the technical proficiency of the team.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Champion a strong culture of safety within the office and ensure all projects meet the highest health and safety standards.
- Ensure that all engineering activities comply with relevant industry codes, regulations, and standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in MEP engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations related to MEP systems.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Strong business acumen and demonstrated success in business development.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and MEP design tools.
