Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Residential Audio Visual Project Manager/Lead Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and executing audiovisual projects in residential settings, ensuring their successful completion from start to finish. You will oversee the installation, integration, and troubleshooting of audiovisual systems while leading a team of technicians.
Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Manage multiple residential audiovisual projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, interior designers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and design specifications.
- Develop detailed project plans, including task assignments, resource allocation, and procurement of necessary equipment and materials.
- Conduct regular project status meetings, provide updates to stakeholders, and address any concerns or issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including project schedules, budgets, change orders, and other relevant records.
Team Leadership:
- Lead a team of audiovisual technicians, providing guidance, direction, and support throughout the project execution.
- Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring optimal utilization of team members' skills and resources.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate project objectives, assign responsibilities, and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Provide technical training and mentorship to team members, promoting their professional development and knowledge enhancement.
Installation and Integration:
- Perform hands-on installation, configuration, and integration of audiovisual systems, including audio equipment, video displays, control systems, and networking components.
- Ensure proper cable management, wiring, and equipment rack setup to meet industry standards and best practices.
- Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of installed systems, identifying and resolving technical issues promptly.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and subcontractors for specialized tasks or equipment integration as required.
Client Relationship Management:
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their audiovisual needs, and providing exceptional customer service.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to gather project requirements, provide accurate estimates, and propose suitable audiovisual solutions.
- Communicate effectively with clients throughout the project lifecycle, addressing their questions, concerns, and change requests in a timely manner.
- Conduct comprehensive system demonstrations and train clients on the operation and maintenance of installed audiovisual systems.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential audiovisual installation and project management.
- Strong technical expertise in audiovisual systems, including audio equipment, video displays, control systems, and networking.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and leading audiovisual projects from conception to completion.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting audiovisual system designs, architectural plans, and technical documentation.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong leadership abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire a team to achieve project goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Industry certifications such as CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association) are highly desirable.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
