A leading environmental consultancy firm specialising in sustainable solutions for the mining industry, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Environmental Approvals / Impact Assessments Consultant to join their team in Sydney, NSW. As a Senior EIA specialist with experience in the mining sector, you will play a pivotal role in managing and executing environmental impact assessments for mining projects across Australia.
The position can be based in Sydney, Central Coast, and Newcastle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate environmental impact assessment processes for mining projects, from inception to completion.
- Conduct thorough environmental impact studies, including field assessments, data analysis, and stakeholder consultations.
- Prepare comprehensive EIA reports and environmental management plans in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff members, fostering their professional development.
- Liaise with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to facilitate project approvals and permits.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, regulations, and technologies in the field of environmental management and mining.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience in environmental impact assessment, with a focus on the mining industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering EIA projects within budget and schedule constraints.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant environmental legislation, regulations, and guidelines in Australia.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings effectively.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
