We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Environmental Planner to join the team in Seattle, Washington. As a Senior Environmental Planner, you will play a crucial role in guiding and implementing environmental planning strategies for a diverse range of projects. You will be responsible for assessing the potential environmental impacts of proposals and providing recommendations to minimize adverse effects while maximizing sustainability.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage environmental planning projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct environmental assessments, impact studies, and risk analyses to identify potential environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with clients, project teams, and stakeholders to understand project goals and objectives and incorporate them into the planning process.
- Prepare and review environmental impact statements, permits, and other regulatory documents.
- Stay up-to-date with evolving environmental regulations, policies, and best practices to ensure compliance and incorporate innovative approaches into projects.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior staff members.
- Coordinate and liaise with government agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders to facilitate project approvals and maintain positive relationships.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental planning, environmental science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in environmental planning or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permitting processes.
- Proven experience in managing complex environmental planning projects from initiation to completion.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and presentation abilities, with the capability to convey complex environmental concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
