Job Description:
They currently have an exciting and immediate opportunity for an experienced and client-focused Design Build Senior Project Manager/Design Manager/Project Technical Leader to support projects primarily in Georgia and other parts of the Southeastern US, including Florida.
In this role, you will oversee and lead multi-discipline planning, design, and construction teams for large water and wastewater treatment facilities, as well as collection and distribution systems. As a key member of our team, you will have direct access to engineering and construction leaders throughout the organization. You will be empowered to deliver innovative solutions while effectively interacting with clients, company management, administrators, project engineers, vendors, and the industry's top Design-Builders.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with sales leaders to assess potential new work and support scoping and costing efforts.
- Facilitate effective communication between design and construction project leadership.
- Manage multi-discipline water/wastewater/conveyance and environmental projects, ranging up to $500M+, within the engineering and construction sector from early concept development through detailed design and construction.
- Work collaboratively with key technical specialists, project team members, delivery managers, and vendors.
- Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and application of standard engineering or construction techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Provide guidance to drafters/designers, engineers, craft workers, project team members, contractors, or subcontractors.
- Assist with the coordination and development of Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) documents.
- Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets and schedules while managing the firm's risk.
- Provide high-level planning and programming analysis, including the preparation of technical documents/reports.
- Promote design-build best practices, including constructability reviews, schedule compliance, and quantity management.
- Actively participate in professional societies relevant to clients or potential clients, including DBIA.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 10 years of related experience.
- PMP (PMI), CCM, or DBIA certification is required (within 12 months of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list).
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with project management or technical leadership on water reclamation or water treatment facility alternative delivery projects (e.g., progressive design build).
- Willingness to serve as a project manager, design manager, or project technical leader on alternative delivery projects.
- Willingness to routinely travel to project sites both in-state and out of state.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Good interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and clients.
- Ability to interact with many people and process a large volume of requests as necessary.
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
Amount of Travel Required: 30%
Skills and Abilities:
- Experience working with project management methodology, including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, project management software, and finance and accounting concepts and practices.
- Possesses in-depth knowledge of project goals, drivers, strategies, risks, and opportunities.
