Currently partnered with a large national Electrical Contractor (TOP 20 ENR) specializing in large scale commercial construction projects and currently have a backlog of projects stretching over the next 4 years. They're currently seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager to join their team in New Jersey.
As Senior Precon Manager, you will be play a critical role in the early stages of project development as well as leading the preconstruction team to promote flawless coordination and communication between design and construction teams. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in electrical preconstruction, demonstrating expertise in project planning, budgeting, and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Lead the estimating team in preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates
- Oversee the development of quantity take-offs, cost breakdowns, and labor and material pricing for precise and competitive bids.
- Cooperate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather essential information and insights for the estimating process
- Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to identify potential risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
- Supervise subcontractors and vendors, ensuring timely completion of work within budgetary constraints.
- Provide regular progress reports to senior management, keeping them informed about project status.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Preconstruction and/or Estimating for electrical construction projects/electrical contractors.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred
- Proven track record of successfully working on projects valued over $10 million.
- Proficiency in using estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, ProEst, ConEst or similar applications.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team management abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and work efficiently under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
