SR Mechanical/Discipline Lead
Introduction
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical/Discipline Lead to join our client's MEP engineering team in Indianapolis, United States. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating focus within the studio on improving project outcomes, leading and overseeing the preparation of design ideas, engineering documentation, and executable delivery of projects, and managing the Engineering studio as a business while creating a healthy work environment for all.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Following Core Processes using design tools, project management tools and technology techniques across the discipline so that there is consistency in how the projects are delivered across the team.
- Delegating and prioritizing key initiatives that broaden knowledge such as training and staff meetings.
- Regularly reviewing key business metrics such as utilization, project profitability, revenue projections and work with Finance to produce good contracts and set reasonable fees.
- Engaging design leaders on projects as part of the core process.
- Meeting and coordinating with Market Leaders and Principals, within your studio, to discuss backlog, capacity, client expectations, client feedback, pursuits and the selling of services.
- Create focus within the studio on improving project outcomes. These should include client satisfaction, design leadership, overall quality, staff engagement/communication, and project profitability.
- Manage the Engineering studio as a business while creating a healthy work environment for all. Focus on staff supervision, communication and consistency to create a strong and flexible organization.
Qualifications
- Professional Licensure in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (PE).
- 10 to 15 years' experience in design/consulting engineering.
- Prior experience leading a team highly preferred.
- Experience working with projects focused on Healthcare or Higher Education preferred.
