As the company continues to expand, they are seeking an Associate Director of Electrical Engineering to help lead and scale their electrical design practice. This is a unique opportunity for a senior electrical engineering leader who enjoys balancing technical engineering, team leadership, operational strategy, and talent development. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable mentoring engineers, shaping departmental strategy, and driving high-level technical excellence on mission critical projects.

What You'll Do
Technical Leadership & Engineering Excellence
- Serve as a senior technical leader supporting the delivery of complex electrical infrastructure projects.
- Provide oversight of electrical system design, engineering calculations, and technical decision-making.
- Act as Engineer of Record (EOR) when required.
- Conduct and oversee QA/QC reviews to ensure technical quality and consistency across projects.
- Support project teams during conceptual and schematic design phases for new programs and client engagements.
- Drive engineering best practices, standards development, and continuous technical improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and develop electrical engineers at all experience levels.
Strategic Department Leadership
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute growth strategies for the electrical engineering group.
- Lead workforce planning, resource forecasting, and staffing initiatives to support expanding project demands.
- Play a key role in recruiting, onboarding, and retaining top engineering talent.
- Develop scalable processes, procedures, and operational systems that improve efficiency and project delivery.
- Help shape organizational policies, standards, and long-term departmental objectives.
Team Management & Organizational Development
- Lead and develop a high-performing remote team of electrical engineers.
- Foster a collaborative culture centered on accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, performance management, and career development support.
- Drive training initiatives and technical knowledge-sharing across the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leadership teams to optimize resource allocation and operational effectiveness.

What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 15+ years of engineering experience, preferably within mission critical, data center, healthcare, industrial, or other complex infrastructure environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and developing technical talent.
- Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, engineering design practices, and applicable codes and standards.
- Experience serving as Engineer of Record and leading quality review processes.
- Strong business, operational, and resource planning capabilities.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders, drive strategic initiatives, and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and standard engineering software tools preferred.
- PE license strongly preferred.
Travel
- Approximately 15% travel for project meetings, client engagements, team collaboration events, and industry conferences.
