A growing environmental consulting firm is seeking an Environmental Due Diligence Consultant to support a wide range of environmental transaction and advisory projects across the United States.

This role is ideal for an environmental professional with experience in Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, transaction advisory, and environmental risk evaluation who enjoys working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. The successful candidate will support private equity firms, corporate clients, lenders, and investors by evaluating environmental liabilities associated with acquisitions, real estate transactions, and portfolio management.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental due diligence assessments for commercial and industrial properties
  • Manage and perform Phase I Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM standards
  • Evaluate environmental, regulatory, and operational risks associated with acquisitions and corporate transactions
  • Review compliance obligations related to air, water, waste, chemical management, and environmental permitting
  • Prepare concise technical reports that clearly communicate environmental risks and liabilities
  • Support environmental reviews for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and portfolio transactions
  • Assist clients in evaluating remediation liabilities and environmental risk management strategies
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver projects under tight transaction timelines
  • Support environmental compliance and advisory projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related discipline
  • 3-5 years of environmental consulting or due diligence experience
  • Strong experience conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
  • Familiarity with environmental transaction advisory, M&A due diligence, or environmental liability assessments
  • Working knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations
  • Exceptional technical writing and communication skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% as project needs require
