Position Overview
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the planning, design, and execution of power system projects across substations, industrial facilities, and mission-critical data center environments. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of electrical infrastructure projects while collaborating with experienced engineering professionals throughout the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate is an early-career engineer who is interested in developing technical expertise in power distribution, substations, protection and control systems, and data center infrastructure. You will contribute to projects from initial design through commissioning and startup while gaining exposure to a variety of critical infrastructure applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the design and development of electrical power systems for substations, industrial facilities, and data center projects.
- Create and update one-line diagrams, electrical layouts, protection schematics, and construction drawings.
- Support equipment selection and specification activities for transformers, switchgear, protective relays, breakers, and associated electrical equipment.
- Assist with power system studies including short-circuit, protective device coordination, grounding, and arc-flash analysis.
- Support the development of protection and control philosophies for electrical systems.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support project execution.
- Participate in design reviews and quality assurance activities.
- Support commissioning, startup, testing, and troubleshooting efforts as required.
- Work directly with senior engineers and project managers to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 1-3 years of experience in electrical engineering, utilities, consulting engineering, industrial facilities, power systems, or related infrastructure projects.
- Basic understanding of electrical distribution systems and power engineering fundamentals.
- Familiarity with electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, breakers, protective relays, and power distribution systems.
- Exposure to engineering software such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, or similar platforms.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work successfully within a remote, team-oriented environment.
Preferred
- Experience supporting substation, industrial, utility, or data center projects.
- Familiarity with medium-voltage electrical systems.
- Exposure to NEC, NFPA, IEEE, or related electrical standards.
- Internship, co-op, or professional experience performing electrical calculations, system studies, or design work.
- Interest in protection and control systems, substations, critical infrastructure, and power system engineering.
Additional Information
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure is NOT required.
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is NOT required.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is NOT required.
- This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates requiring H-1B or future employment sponsorship with H-1B cannot be considered.

Compensation & Benefits
