Job Title: Project Environmental Engineer
Location: Remote - New Jersey
Salary: $80,000 - $120,000

Position Overview:
Seeking a Project Environmental Engineer/Geologist to support environmental remediation, site assessment, and regulatory compliance projects throughout New Jersey. This role will be responsible for managing contaminated site investigations, environmental due diligence efforts, remediation projects, and regulatory compliance activities for a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, and development clients. The ideal candidate will have experience navigating New Jersey environmental regulations while leading project execution from site assessment through remediation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage environmental assessment and remediation projects from planning through completion.
  • Conduct and oversee environmental field investigations, sampling programs, and data collection activities.
  • Perform Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Support Site Investigation (SI), Remedial Investigation (RI), and Remedial Action (RA) projects.
  • Ensure compliance with New Jersey environmental regulations and remediation requirements.
  • Evaluate remediation alternatives and support implementation of remedial strategies.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, field personnel, laboratories, and project stakeholders.
  • Prepare technical reports, regulatory submissions, and environmental documentation.
  • Track project schedules, budgets, and deliverables while maintaining strong client communication.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting environmental remediation and site investigation projects in New Jersey.
  • Experience conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Familiarity with Site Investigation (SI), Remedial Investigation (RI), and Remedial Action (RA) processes.
  • Working knowledge of New Jersey environmental regulations and remediation programs.
  • Strong technical writing, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Experience managing field activities, subcontractors, and project tasks.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • EIT, GIT, PE, PG, or other relevant professional certification preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, GIS, or environmental data management tools.
  • Familiarity with environmental modeling and data analysis software.
  • Experience supporting soil and groundwater investigation and remediation projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong client-facing and project management skills.
  • Experience working within an environmental consulting environment.
